24U Net Remote enables remote control of applications and devices over a network, presenting a versatile tool for various professional and personal applications. Users can utilize an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad as a remote control interface for managing slide shows, presentations, demonstrations, and multimedia playback. Additionally, it facilitates live voting or survey collection, supports school examinations and contests, and integrates with FileMaker®, AppleScript®, and web-based applications.

The system extends control to automated home or office environments, allowing management of lighting and other connected devices. It can also operate model traffic lights, railway setups, or other real-world models. Its customizable interface ensures applicability across multiple scenarios.

Operationally, 24U Net Remote connects to a designated remote host via a specified TCP port, transmitting commands in real-time as users interact with on-screen buttons. Currently, it supports a raw text protocol, with each button on an active layout configured to send a unique text command. Any application or device capable of responding to these raw TCP text messages can be controlled through this system.

While multiple remote apps or devices can be managed sequentially, only one connection is active at a time. Once an interface layout is opened, Net Remote establishes an immediate connection to the target host for seamless control. Layouts guide the display and response areas on the screen; several pre-made layouts are available for free download, with additional options accessible via in-app purchases or custom uploads through iTunes file sharing.
